Primosten is a county located on the peninsula about twenty kilometers from Sibenik. Primosten has a rich history dating back to the 14th century. Throughout history, residents of Primosten were mostly engaged in livestock and agriculture. In the 20th century tourism started to develop, and the first restaurant in Primosten was opened in 1956. Gastronomic specialties of Primosten are olives and olive oil. The town is famous for its vineyards. In these vineyards, there is an autochthonous grape variety from which the famous wine Babic is made. A picture of one Primosten vineyard is located in the lobby of the UN building in New York. Every year there is also the traditional donkey race and fishing festivals, during which tourists can enjoy the taste of a variety of seafood.
