This National Park is located in the central part of the Adriatic and includes part of the Kornati islands known as the Lower Kornati. The park has 109 islands, of which 76 have are less than one hectare big.

From the nearby ports, Sibenik, Zadar, Biograd, Split and others, there are a number of excursion boats daily which offer rides through the Kornati archipelago and a visit to the islands. Kornati offer a wide range of natural and cultural sites, and among the best known are the "crowns" or the sheer cliffs of the Kornati islands, Magazinova Srila on Kornati island, which is actually a landslide formed by an earthquake in ancient times, then numerous vantage points offering magnificent view of the entire archipelago, Illyrian ruins and early Christian basilica, beautiful bays and much more.

For diving enthusiasts, there is an extremely rich flora and fauna in the deep, clean sea of Kornati, as well as underwater crowns and reliefs formed millions of years ago.
